![]() ![]() Seasonal wheelhouses will need to get up here this weekend and move their house to the NE side of storage lot if they are going to keep it here or otherwise call the season over and take it home. We will be calling all rental customers and informing them of the situation also. I don’t control the weather, but I know the best way to deal with it after all the years out there and that is what we are going to do. So if it isn’t ready I suggest you get up here this weekend and get it ready as it will be coming off the ice Monday. After what we have went thru already this year we are not going to deal with that for just one weekend. With the thinner ice conditions we have had this year, that much snow and accumulated drifts around houses would lead to some major flooding. We are going to get as many off the ice as possible off before Tuesday. ALL Permanents MUST be ready to pull starting this Sunday, Feb.19th. So basically it could be a blizzard out there.įor that reason starting Sunday we will be pulling houses and cutting our season one week short. Starting late Tuesday thru Thursday we could receive as much as 10″-13″ of snow and NW winds 35 mph plus. Overall it has been a quiet week.Īfter watching and checking with 3 different weather sites and forecasts, there is a significant snowstorm coming this next week. Perch are active all day in most areas but you have to pick thru them to get the 10″plus keepers. The bite for the Walleye has been mostly at night for most anglers. This entry was posted in Fishing & Ice Report on Februby eddyl. We will be pulling them to shore starting tomorrow and hope to have the majority in our storage lot by sometime Tuesday. Permanents that don’t show up by noon today (Feb 18th) or call the office will be called and informed that we will get their house ready and they will be charged for it. I will post what we will be doing later in the week in the report. I’m sure after it’s over i will be reopening some of roads for the last weekend depending on how much snow we get. Especially when there is only a couple days left after the snowstorm. Because of ice depths,(lack of), we have this late in the season, it is better to get them off the ice before. That amount of snow and drifting will cause flooding around the houses. For that reason we are pulling the plug on the season and starting to remove houses Sunday/Monday. followed by strong N winds gusting to 35 mph. Snow depths are estimated from 8-12″ and more just to the south of us. The weather forecast is still showing a very significant snow storm arriving late Tuesday thru Thursday. Also yesterday the Perch picked up with some nicer ones caught in shallower water. I received some nice C/R pictures from a few anglers. Yesterday and overnight the fishing action picked up some. ![]()
